To make the application work, first turn on the wireless and other network services, then use VAIO Smart Connect. Your problem could also be related to the fact that wireless or the necessary technologies are not running properly.
Go to Device Manager and make sure that everything is installed. If all drivers are installed properly, then perform a re-installation of VAIO Smart Connect.
Why is Smart Network not working in Windows 8 Media Center? I have a Sony VAIO SVE15113EN.

It is possible that this software is not compatible with your laptop model. You should check the official support home page for more information about the software that is compatible with your model.
In order to re-install software on your computer, first you need to uninstall it. If you delete the software first, there might be some files that software created when it was installed. To uninstall software you need to go to Start > Control Panel > Programs and Features (on Windows 7) / Uninstall program (in Windows XP) and select the program which you want to uninstall. After you did this you can re-install the software.
I have a Sony Vaio VGN-CS3AGH and the Bluetooth does not turn on. When I go to turn on, the window opens and the text says to turn on the hardware switch.

Visit Sony Support website and download the driver for your Bluetooth device and for the function keys. In most of cases, you can not start Bluetooth because the Windows does not know what to do when you press the buttons to start Bluetooth. That's why the driver and software for function keys are required.
